LAKAN Releases Collection with Bespoke Clothier Harper & Jones
United by their shared dedication to craft, designers Lakan Golden (LAKAN) and Brittany Nickolyn (Harper & Jones) name artful craftsmanship, exceptional fabrics, and sophisticated tailoring as the foundations of their collaboration.
Informed by her extensive work in custom menswear, Lakan launched her New Orleans-based, made-to-measure womenswear collection in 2023. Anchored by her home city’s laissez-faire approach to living, each seasonal capsule reimagines LAKAN’s core silhouettes—both suiting and separates—in new fabrications. Using a thoughtful approach to curation, Lakan looks to redefine what it means to build a wardrobe.
For Brittany, co-founder of Dallas’ Harper & Jones, bench-made craftsmanship offers the opportunity to tilt menswear traditions toward a more modern aesthetic. Through impeccable tailoring, each Harper & Jones garment reflects an attention to detail and fit ever-present in the bespoke process.
A palette of earthy neutrals allows for each silhouette in this collaborative collection to have its moment in the proverbial sun. Classic pinstriped linen and rose-colored, semi-sheer organza captures the lightness of a new season. Formal without being too buttoned-up, classic tailoring in playful patterns and textured fabrics are perfect for summertime events like weddings and luncheons, (maybe even a vacation or two).
LAKAN’s capsule can be seen in the New Orleans studio Monday through Friday and in Dallas, by appointment, at the brand’s new permanent residence in Harper & Jones’ flagship studio.
